Its a fact: the trapped air we breathe in our homes can be loaded with dust, pollen, spores, and other pollutant particles. In many cases, its worse than the air outside. Especially if you are one of the 40 million allergy sufferers in North America. Combine that with the fact that we spend 90% of our time inside and indoor air quality becomes a major concern.
One of the most neglected areas in a home is the ductwork system. These are the channels that deliver the heated/cooled air to the living areas. The standard throw-away filters in your furnace traps only about 15% of the pollutant particles in your homes air. The rest circulates throughout your home and will build up inside the ductwork.
The solution to this problem is to clean the inside of the ductwork. Since the ductwork is not removable, it must be cleaned while inside the home. We can do this with our duct cleaning machine. We attach a large hose to the return air drop by the furnace, and attach the other end outside to our duct cleaning machine. When the machine runs, it creates a vacuum which removes the debris from the inside of the ductwork and transfers it outside into our machine. But we don't stop there. While the machine is running, we use compressed air and a long whip type extension to probe the inside of the ductwork to knock loose the most stubborn debris. We can also treat the inside of the ductwork with a sanitizing solution to keep mold and dust mites at bay.
